about

Born amidst hidden waterfalls and montane crumble tops is Ozbolt's debut album 'The Family Dog Never Felt At Home'. A three week vacation on Sardinia turned into a five month long odyssey of being stranded on this wondrous island and slowly acclimatising to a new pulse, with its strange emotional tides, defined by the wild boar hunting season, steep mountain climbs and shamanistic sweatlodges.

This lucky constellation of an opening in time and space together with a slow-paced rhythm of a life immersed in wild nature, invited Andy to reconnect with the slowest and most unrefined corners of his musical understanding. A stripped down studio setup of only an analog synthesizer and a microphone offered a new sense of playful freedom, and a vast array of old studio experiments and instrument recordings helped to form the wavey and soft textures.

Being surrounded by and close to the bone with both lost hunting dogs and strays, while getting to know family dogs with questionable backstories and a minor sense of belonging, the music inevitably channeled the emotions and personal viewpoints of these remarkable souls into existence. 'The Family Dog Never Felt At Home' is a zoopraxibiography for the senses, a four-legged exploration, a vibrant tale of domestication and rewilding of the heart.
